Whale & Wildlife Report | January 7-13, 2024

The humpbacks are out in full force! Near and far, our whale-watching tours encountered whales all over the Kona coastline. We found some very surface-active whales this week that displayed head lunges, pec slaps, and a few breaches! One breaching baby in particular stole the show and gave us some incredible looks as it launched its body out of the water! We found mom and calf pairs, groups of males, and a few solo whales in travel mode. With so many humpbacks in our waters, species are bound to interact. We also saw multiple groups of bottlenose dolphins and Hawaiian spinner dolphins spending time with the whales. As more people arrive on the island, now couldn’t be a better time to get on the water and experience the humpback magic!

Now is a great time to follow us on social! Our amazing captains, crew members, and naturalists are capturing our encounters on our tours. Follow us for photos and videos from our wildlife tours!
