Whale & Wildlife Report | Oct 30-Nov 1, 2025
What a week! November is one of our favorite months for a reason. Our 3-4 hour pelagic whale watching tours have the opportunity to see Kona’s year-round whales and potential early humpback arrivals. It’s the best of both worlds!
BIG NEWS! On October 30th, we spotted our first humpback this season! Near Kahalu’u Beach Park, a juvenile humpback delighted us with a spectacular cartwheel, multiple surfacings, and a great look at their flukes. In addition to our first humpback, we also enjoy encounters with short-finned pilot whales offshore and Hawaiian spinner dolphins outside Honokohau Harbor. What a treat! Hoping for more humpbacks? Our official 2.5-3 hour humpback whale watching tours begin December 13th, but it’s never too early to start planning your winter whale watch! With three departure times at 7 AM, 11 AM, and 3 PM, we have a tour that works with your schedule. Our humpback encounter this week was a thrilling preview of whats to come in the next few months, and with our tour calendar already filling up, we highly recommend booking soon!
